Zane’s first Halloween costume

Friday, October 31st, 2008

As many of you know from a previous entry in January, I had high hopes that Zane may have superpowers.  Well in keeping with my aspirations for him, we got him a Superman costume this year.  Turns out … I think maybe he does have some superpowers.

Granted . . . these pictures were not actually taken on Oct. 31, but it was his Halloween costume, and he went to a costume party on Oct. 19 so I’m including it in this post.

All right . . . back to the superpowers thing.  1st of all – as soon as we put the costume on him, he stood up on his own.  He was sitting in the grass with nothing to pull up on and he just stood up.  Everyone of us were in awe!  I said, “it must be the costume”.

Zane stands up on his own.

This may not seem quite so impressive, but what he did next is really amazing.  Turns out . . . Zane can fly.  See for yourself.

(Alright, he might have had a little help from his dad on that one.)

The rest of the day was spent with Rachel’s side of the family (it was cousin Pacey’s baptism that morning).  So here are a few more pictures from the day.

Flinn Family Photo Session

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

Flinn Family Photo Session . . . say that 5 times fast …

Thursday evening Rachel and I got to spend some time with the Flinn family (Amanda (mom), Andy (dad), Adler (12 months) and Ashton (4 yrs.))  Good looking bunch don’t you think?

It was a great day for a photo shoot.  Beautiful fall colors combined with a laid back, photogenic family helped to make for a very enjoyable session.

Rachel Berry’s Senior Session

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

I had so much fun shooting this session with Rachel Berry.  We had a beautiful day with beautiful light and of course, a beautiful girl.  Rachel oozes with personality, she’s fun and she has natural posing ability . . . what more could a photographer ask for?  Here are a few of my favorite images from the session.

Zane is a walker!

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Zane took his first steps on his own today.  Video coming soon.  He should be walking all over the place any day now.

Jessie Beck’s Senior Session

Monday, October 27th, 2008

We shot Jessie’s pictures on Monday night. We had some great lighting, great weather and a great subject of course. She brought her boyfriend along for a few pictures which I really liked because he kept her smiling (he did half my job for me). Here are a few of the highlights:

Lock (and McGuire) Family Photo Shoot

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Way back in May of this year (May 30 to be exact), I did a newborn session for Tim and Sondra McGuire’s son, Ayden.  Today I did a session for Sondra’s entire family.

So really, today’s shoot was like 3 sessions in one:

  1. Engagement shots for Jen and Carl
  2. Family shots with everybody
  3. Shots of the kids
  4. and then all other combinations we could come up with.

Normally this would sound a bit overwhelming, but this family was one of the easiest large groups we’ve shot to date.  The kids were cooperative, the adults were pleasant (even the fellas), and everybody seemed happy to be there.  I must say I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Alyssa Kimbel’s Senior Session

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

One of my former students.  We went out and did her senior session in the rain.  I was a little concerned about my camera (and I think she was a little concerned about her hair), but I wrapped it in a plastic Wal-Mart bag (my camera . . . not her hair) and all was well.

Kimbel is very photogenic even with the rain is coming down and a wet head.

She was great to work with and willing to try any crazy idea I had (even lying down on the wet pavement).

Here are a few of my favorites.

Samantha Jaquin Senior Session

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Today I met a really cool, funky, artsy, edgy girl named Samantha Jaquin.  We did her senior session and I think these images really convey her personality.

Here are a few of my favorites.

Guilliams Family

Friday, October 17th, 2008

We went down to the Jackson City Park and did a session with the Guilliams family – Blake, April and their 3 kids: Lily, Gavin and Maggie.  I really enjoyed this shoot today.  The kids were fun and playful.  Mom and dad were relaxed and easy going about the whole process and most importantly, we got some really great images.  In fact the the 2nd picture shown below (the one of their oldest daughter, Lily) is one of my favorite images of all time – stunning little girl!)

Heffner-Watts E-session

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

We spent about 2 hours today with Mike Heffner and Stephanie Watts shooting their engagement session.  What a cute couple!!

Before I shoot a couples, I usually tell them, “your pictures will only be as fun as the two of you are willing to be”.  Stephanie and Mike are a perfect example of that.  They were willing to try anything.  Even some of my most ridiculous ideas.  I think the results are awesome.  I really love these pictures.  I hope they do to.  Here are a few of my favorites:
