This is Laurie Clippard and she will be competing in the Miss Teen Missouri pagent in June of this year as “Miss Jackson”. She’s such a beautiful young lady with tons of personality. I’m sure she’ll do great! I’m totally rooting for her.
She came over to the studio this evening to do a few shots with her newly acquired crown.
Hopefully, she’ll take the Miss Teen Missouri Title this summer and we’ll have some more images to show then . . . but for now . . . here are a few favorites from tonight.
I always appreciate it when somebody like my mom or my wife or my mother-in-law tells me that my photography is great, but of course I do have to take their compliments with a grain of salt, right? (they’re sort of obligated to think I’m wonderful). So I had a really nice honor today when I got some unexpected validation from a completely non-biased source.
The lab that I use to print all of my canvas wraps sent me an e-mail today and told me that they love my images. They are getting ready to print up new marketing materials and trade show samples and they want to use 8 of my images for their advertising. Pretty cool eh?
The 8 images that they plan to use are shown below.
This is Clay Prevallet. He’s a 2009 Senior at Perryville and this session was 100% All-Boy. I had such a blast shooting him with his horse and his truck and his motorcycle. He’s a good looking kid with a great smile and a great personality (oh and did I mention that there were horses, trucks and motorcycles?). What more could I ask for?
Below are a few favorties from the day.
It’s not often that I get to shoot traditional studio sessions, but I always enjoy them when I do. And this week I shot two of them back to back. (Plus I got to use one of my brand new hand painted backdrops from Silverlake).
One was an engagement session for Courtney Wills and Jim Falkenburry (who I’ll be shooting a wedding for later this summer). The other was a classic family session with Angie and Larry Holtzhouser and their grandchildren, Nolan and Ellie from Scott City (donning tuxedos and dresses and all)
Below are a few from those two sessions.
And this is Jim and Courtney
Today I went to South Elementary for the Community Helpers Fair. There were all different types of occupations represented, and I was there to show what a photographer does. I took my camera and my lights and all kinds of other things so while I was there I took some free pictures of the children.
If you’d like to view or order any of those pictures, you can access the entire gallery by clicking here.
The $1000 Giveaway ended today and it’s now time to announce the winner. Thanks to all who registered for the drawing. I wish I could give $1000 to each person who registered, but there were nearly 700 of you and I’m no Oprah Winfrey.
Although . . . I do have some good news. While only one person will receive the grand prize, I’m in a particularly good mood today (must be the beautiful weather). So I am also offering an additional $1000 split between 10 other winners in $100 increments as consolation prizes (I know! Happy Days!!)
If you didn’t win this time, please check our website and blog regularly because we will be announcing various promotions throughout the year. You can even receive automatic e-mail updates by subscribing here.
So without further ado, it’s time to announce the winners:

For those of you that are curious about the selection process, I’ll share how the winners were selected (while I certainly appreciate all the kind words on the blog and in personal e-mails, they had no bearing on the selection of the winner – sorry)
