A Music Theater Senior (and her dog)

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

This is Mariah Thompson from Notre Dame High School.  Super pretty girl.  I mean camera really loves this girl’s face.  Tons a personality.  What a great session we had with her (and her dog).

Here are a few of our favorites:

Waiting lists and playing Blog Catch-up (6 new posts – so scroll way down)

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Let me start by apologizing to all of you faithful blog followers for the lack of posts in the past few weeks.  My goal was initially to blog once a day, and then that goal went to three times a week and now I’m just struggling to play catch-up it seems lately. Anyway, we’ve been crazy busy with sessions over these past few weeks (scroll down to see some of our recent images)

Oh yeah and just an FYI, we now have a waiting list for the next 2 months. Yes . . . we’re booked solid through Thanksgiving so if you’re wanting a session, you’ll need to call early to book a date in December or you’ll need to call and get on the waiting list. I hate that we can’t fit everyone in who wants to book, but we are only a 2 person operation (no Zane doesn’t help much yet) and with trying to keep up with my teaching job, my family, and quite frankly . . . my sanity, we’ve had to start turning sessions away. Please don’t stop calling though. You never know when a date may open up.  We love hearing from you.

Something a little different – a commercial shoot

Friday, September 25th, 2009

We’re used to doing portrait photography, but every once in a while we get a call for something a bit different and you know me . . . I’m always up for a challenge.  Elements Salon and Boutique in Cape Girardeau needed some new images to update their website with and since we’ve been working closely together with my high school seniors (they’ve been making them look extra beautiful), they asked if I’d do new headshots of their staff and some product photography too.  You can visit their website to see the headshots, but here are a few of the other images that we took for their new website.

If you haven’t been to Elements Salon and Boutique (ladies!!!), you should really check it out.  They will pamper you like never before.

Check out their newly updated website for more details (I even hear there are some pretty cool pictures on there ;-)

Have I mentioned that we shoot subjects other than H.S. seniors – including little girls?

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Alright.  I’m pounding it in the ground now aren’t I? . . . so I’ll stop.  But I hope these last few posts have been a gentle reminder that we love shooting families, couples in love, babies, children (and of course H.S. Seniors too).  This is Kaidynce Moffitt.  Her mom, Danielle, is a very talented stylist at Elements Salon in Cape Girardeau and she does all of the hair styling for our H.S. senior girls.  This session was kind of a “Thank You” to Danielle for all the hard work she’s done this year to help our already beautiful models look their best.

And I can’t wait until about 12 years from now when I get to shoot little Kaidynce’s senior session.  What a ham this little lady was.  Man she’s never been in front of a camera before (uh . . . shah right!)

Just a reminder – we shoot engagement sessions too

Friday, September 25th, 2009

This is Laura Ernst and Jesse Richardet and we’re shooting their wedding here in a few weeks.  We shot their engagement session back at the beginning of August.   They were such a fun couple and totally up for all of my crazy ideas (see if you can find the image with the footloose reference).

In case you didn’t believe my last blog post – here’s more proof (we don’t just shoot seniors)

Friday, September 25th, 2009

We really do shoot little ones in addition to teenagers.  This is Elayna Kiplinger.  Her mom, Jennifer brought her into the studio back at the beginning of September. Beautiful little girl!

. . . . well family sessions for example.   This is the Dawes family.  Lindsey, Adrian, and Ashlyn.  What a good looking bunch.  We shot their session back at the end of August and the whole bunch was so photogenic, it made my job quite easy.

14 recent seniors

Friday, September 25th, 2009

So – high school seniors.  Rachel and I really like shooting these sessions and man oh man! we’ve shot a bunch. We’re getting close to about 100 for this season alone. Here’s 14 of them from the past few weeks. They are:

Austin Bartles, Kelsey Bierman, Megan Bomar, Dillan Doza, Casey Fluegge, Brianna Gray, Emily Hinton, Kyle Keith, Diane and Julie Langenfeld, Whitney McNeely, Andrew Mueller, Kaitlyn Thompson and Ashley Wingerter.

Sorry the 14 of you don’t get a single blog post dedicated to only you (it doesn’t mean we don’t love you all). Thanks for letting us capture a part of your senior year!

High Voltage, Guitar Smashing Senior Sessions

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

We’ve shot sessions for several musicians this year (right up my alley you know!) and recently we had two really cool Jackson guys in for senior sessions and I must say we got some pretty “rockin’” images of them.

Blake Fields destroyed his guitar. It was soooo AWESOME! (it must be a boy thing) and then Taylor Kight brought his electric guitar and amp in so I thought it would be really cool to go to a power plant for some “high voltage” shots of him.

Here are a few favorites from Taylor and Blake’s sessions.

These first 7 shots are Taylor Kight:
