Step back – here’s Jack!

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

We had a 3-month old in the studio this morning.  This is Jack Daugherty.  Jack is a member of our baby club (well technically, he’s not . . . he doesn’t have a job or any money . . . but his parents are).  Anyway, we’ll be shooting 3 more sessions of him throughout his first year of life so keep an eye out for Jack on the blog this year.  I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of him.

Here are a few of my favorites from Jack’s session.

We shot a 6-month session for Elayna Kiplinger a few weeks ago (you may remember her from a blog post I made back in Sept. when we did her 3-month session).  Anyway, her mother, Jennifer came over to pick up her prints this evening and after she got them home, she sent us this ever so thoughtful e-mail.

“Thanks again so much for the gorgeous pics I picked up this evening. They were so awesome! I loved them all! I had to hurry home and put them straight up in the frames to enjoy. Rachel is right, the 11×14 is mesmorizing. The wallets were absolutely breathtaking and usually that can’t be said about your everyday wallet size photo. Then again, Tyson is not your everyday run of the mill photographer either. Thank you again so much for your talent and patience with my 6 month old baby girl. I will cherish these photos always.”
-Jennifer Kiplinger

Thanks again for the kind words.  We look forward to your next session in Feb.

Here are a few of the pictures that Jennifer now has hanging in her home.

4-month old – Leah Bell

Saturday, November 7th, 2009

Our friends, Wes and Tish came over this morning with their 4-month old little girl, Leah for a studio session.  This little girl has the most piercing blue eyes you’ve ever seen.  What a doll.  Her baptism is tomorrow so we did some shots in her christening gown.  Also, Wesley is an officer for the PV police dept. so we incorporated his uniform as well.  Below are a few of our favorites from the day.

In case you didn’t believe my last blog post – here’s more proof (we don’t just shoot seniors)

We really do shoot little ones in addition to teenagers.  This is Elayna Kiplinger.  Her mom, Jennifer brought her into the studio back at the beginning of September. Beautiful little girl!

Tragic Story – Beautiful Baby

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Back in April, Barry Brueggeman (age 27 / former Quincy University Football star) was killed in a one vehicle accident just a month before the birth of his first child.  I work with Barry’s wife, Deana at Jackson Middle School and I was just shocked when I heard the news.  I think we all were.   It was just a terribly tragic situation.

Well, Barry’s legacy is sure to be carried on by his son, Keegan.  I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Keegan today.  He is just 3 weeks old and he may just be the most photogenic newborn ever!

I’ve heard every cloud has a silver lining.  Well this sliver lining is named Keegan Bear Brueggeman.

Baby Hammock for Maggie St. John

Saturday, June 6th, 2009

So our good friends, Beth and Jason St. John (who in many ways are responsible for the launch of this whole photography thing  back in Oct. 2006 with the birth of their first daughter, Katy) just had another little girl.  Her name is Margaret Beth St. John – A.K.A. – Maggie, and she is Super adorable!

Well, I’ve had this idea for a while now about a concept shot of a baby sleeping in a hammock, but haven’t really had the opportunity to try it . . . until now.  Enter beautiful baby and parents who are open to the idea and Viola!  Idea turns into photograph.

Check it out.

Nolan Kintner 1st Birthday Cake Shots

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

Julie and Patrick brought their 1-year old, Nolan over for his 1st birthday session (I know . . . he doesn’t look one does he? Crazy how much hair this kid has). I have to say, these are some of the cutest cake shots we’ve gotten. Nolan was all about that cake! Here’s a collage of some favorites.

Santa Claus brings Christmas to the Zahner house early.

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Last night, Santa made a visit to the Zahner studio to do a special Christmas session with Zane and Pacey.  Thanks to Gramma Charlyn, we got the best Santa I think I’ve ever seen.  His name is Wayne Pitman from Perryville and he looks so realistic, it was just incredible (and yes, his beard is real).  Gramma Charlyn goes to church with Wayne and she asked him to come down and do a session with our boys.  Obviously, he said yes (hence the reason for writing this post), so Gramma C. came down yesterday with all kinds of goodies and helped decorate for the occasion.  Below are some of our favorite pictures from the session (Thanks Gramma C and Wayne – you both helped to make this a very special first Christmas for our boys)

Zahner Family Fall Pictures

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

Grandma Charlyn was in town today so after we got home from church we called her on her cell to ask if she would come do some fall pictures for us.  So of course, she said, “yes”.  It was a bit cold, but we toughed out the weather and went over to Klaus park (that’s the park right next to our house) and got some family pictures of the 3 of us.  Below are a few of our favorites:
