Richardet-Ernst Wedding – Sneak Peek

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Back in Oct. we shot Laura Ernst and Jesse Richardet’s wedding at their home/farm in Perryville.  It was a beautiful day and for the reception, they set up the biggest tent I have EVER seen.  Jesse and Laura were both so laid back and up for any idea we had.  They were so great and totally fun.  It really makes our job so much easier (and enjoyable) when the couple is relaxed and trust us and our ideas.  Then as a result, they get some pretty awesome wedding pictures like the ones you’ll see below.

Congrats Laura and Jesse and thanks for asking us to be a part of your special day!

Holly & Nathan – An Engagement Session

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

This is Holly Balsman and Nathan Moran.  We shot their engagement session back in October and we’re shooting their wedding next May.  They’re such a great, super sweet couple.  We had a blast and can’t wait until the wedding next year.

Enjoy a few favorites from Holly and Nathan’s session below:

This is Laura Ernst and Jesse Richardet and we’re shooting their wedding here in a few weeks.  We shot their engagement session back at the beginning of August.   They were such a fun couple and totally up for all of my crazy ideas (see if you can find the image with the footloose reference).

Stephanie Watts and Mike Heffner – Wedding Sneak Peek

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

Here’s a sneak peek from a wedding we shot last weekend.

This is my pastor’s daughter and I knew it was going to be a great wedding because we shot their engagement pictures and had a blast.

The wedding was no different.  Super sweet couple, beautiful settings, fun wedding party . . . what more could I ask for?  Well . . . the only glitch in the day was the rain.  It was BEAUTIFUL up until 5 minutes before the wedding started and the skies opened up and dumped about an inch of rain in 10 minutes.

Anyway it cleared up and the wedding got started a little late,  and we had a really nice day from then on.

Here are some favorites from the day.

Shawn and Kim’s Engagement Session

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

This afternoon, we shot Shawn Taylor and Kim Fisher’s engagement session, and let me tell you (it was blazing, HOT!).  But they were troopers and pushed through the heat.  And it’s a good thing they did, because we captured some pretty darn nice images.

I had been wanted to try a few new posing and lighting ideas that had been rolling around in my head and this was the perfect opportunity.  See below:

Jennifer Miller and Kelly McDonald Wedding

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

Rachel and I love shooting weddings.  They’re so exciting and emotion-filled and each one is totally unique.

This wedding was no different.  Jennifer Miller and Kelly McDonald got married on May 23rd in Jackson.  We were fortunate enough to cover the event.

This is a sneak peek at a few of our favorite images from their day (click each thumbnail to see the full size image)

Enjoy.

(P.S.  We just shot two more weddings this weekend so stay tuned on our blog for more sneak peeks in the coming days)

Classic Portraiture – Some formal studio sessions

Monday, April 6th, 2009

It’s not often that I get to shoot traditional studio sessions, but I always enjoy them when I do.  And this week I shot two of them back to back.  (Plus I got to use one of my brand new hand painted backdrops from Silverlake).

One was an engagement session for Courtney Wills and Jim Falkenburry (who I’ll be shooting a wedding for later this summer).  The other was a classic family session with Angie and Larry Holtzhouser and their grandchildren, Nolan and Ellie from Scott City (donning tuxedos and dresses and all)

Below are a few from those two sessions.

Josh and Shara’s Wedding

Thursday, January 15th, 2009

We shot Josh and Shara’s wedding on Dec. 20 and had a blast. Beautiful day (not too cold even though it was end of December). Good lookin’ couple and a super fun wedding party. Here are a few of my favorites.

Drew Ponder & Ryan Roberts Engagement Session

Friday, January 9th, 2009

My neighbor (Drew Ponder) is getting married this year and I shot her engagement session over Christmas break.  Here’s a short slideshow of their session.

Heffner-Watts E-session

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

We spent about 2 hours today with Mike Heffner and Stephanie Watts shooting their engagement session.  What a cute couple!!

Before I shoot a couples, I usually tell them, “your pictures will only be as fun as the two of you are willing to be”.  Stephanie and Mike are a perfect example of that.  They were willing to try anything.  Even some of my most ridiculous ideas.  I think the results are awesome.  I really love these pictures.  I hope they do to.  Here are a few of my favorites:
