We had such a great photo shoot yesterday morning. Silas is 7 days old, and he just slept like a . . . well . . . like a baby. He made my job too easy.
Here are a few from Silas’ session. Welcome to the world Silas James Sparks

CloseZoe turned 6-months on Thanksgiving and she’s already doing SOOOO much. She pulls up on EVERYTHING (her crib, tables, toys, baskets, our legs, and so on). The girl LOVES to be on her feet. She even lets go and tries to balance on her own. She manages about 1 second before grabbing back on, but she gets so excited and proud of herself when she’s on her feet by herself. It’s really funny. I have no doubt she’ll be walking by 9-months.
Anyway . . . here is a little wall collage we put together from her 6-month photo shoot. Each image below is a separate print. They will be framed individually and will hang separately side by side in her room like this to spell out her name. This works great for kids with 3 or 4 or even 5 letters in their name.
Do I sound like a proud papa or what? Yeah Zoe is exactly 3 months old today so of course we took some 3-month pictures. It’s amazing how much she’s changed in just a short time.
Most of the time, Rachel and I both just stare at her and can hardly believe how beautiful she is (good thing she got her mama’s looks eh?)
Here’s just a few from my little lady’s session.
Sara and Colby Palisch brought their 3-month old, Ansley in for a session this weekend. What a doll she was . . . and so well-tempered. I don’t think I heard her cry once in the entire time that they were here.
Thank you Sara and Colby for spending Saturday morning with us. It was a joy meeting little Ansley.
We had a 3-month old in the studio this morning. This is Jack Daugherty. Jack is a member of our baby club (well technically, he’s not . . . he doesn’t have a job or any money . . . but his parents are). Anyway, we’ll be shooting 3 more sessions of him throughout his first year of life so keep an eye out for Jack on the blog this year. I’m sure you’ll be seeing more of him.
Here are a few of my favorites from Jack’s session.
We went to the doctor today and Rachel had her first ultrasound. The nurse said that the baby was very cooperative. The most cooperative she’s had all day in fact. Everything looked good. The baby was moving quite a bit and we saw it’s heart beating and we saw it’s little toes and rib cage and face. The only thing we did not see was a penis. So I’m no doctor, but I think that means we’re having a little girl.
WoooHooooo. Daddy’s little girl will be here in less than 5 months.
We shot a 6-month session for Elayna Kiplinger a few weeks ago (you may remember her from a blog post I made back in Sept. when we did her 3-month session). Anyway, her mother, Jennifer came over to pick up her prints this evening and after she got them home, she sent us this ever so thoughtful e-mail.
“Thanks again so much for the gorgeous pics I picked up this evening. They were so awesome! I loved them all! I had to hurry home and put them straight up in the frames to enjoy. Rachel is right, the 11×14 is mesmorizing. The wallets were absolutely breathtaking and usually that can’t be said about your everyday wallet size photo. Then again, Tyson is not your everyday run of the mill photographer either. Thank you again so much for your talent and patience with my 6 month old baby girl. I will cherish these photos always.”
-Jennifer Kiplinger
Thanks again for the kind words. We look forward to your next session in Feb.
Here are a few of the pictures that Jennifer now has hanging in her home.
Most of you know the news already, but for those of you that don’t, consider this the official announcement. Rachel is pregnant! Yes, we were as surprised by this news as everyone else. In fact we had our application in at LFCS for adoption #2 when we found out. Rachel is about to go into her 13th week and we went to the OB yesterday and got to hear the heartbeat (yeahhhh!!!) . Due date falls right around May 19th. We’ll keep you posted via the blog as we find out new information (like gender – I’m hoping for another boy, but I’m outnumbered by . . . let’s see . . . . EVERYONE).
Anyway, considering that no blog post would be complete without a picture – here’s a shot of Rachel that we took when we first found out (back at the end of Sept.). I don’t imagine we’ll see abs like this again anytime soon so we figured we’d capture them while we could. We’re going to try and take more pictures of the belly throughout the pregnancy to show the progression. So stay tuned!
