Maddy and Brock got married on July 31, and Rachel and I were there to share in the joy (not to mention the heat and humidity). Seriously, I think this was one of the hottest, most humid weddings we’ve EVER photographed, but boy did we have a good time (did I mention that it was HOT!!). The wedding was so unique. All of the guys had muscle cars that they brought to the wedding and then each couple drove off in one after the wedding. We even blocked off the street for 30 minutes or so to do some shots with all the muscle cars.
Here’s a little sneak peek from Maddy and Brock’s wedding day.

Scarlett Patterson is a senior at Notre Dame High School. We shot her senior session yesterday and since she’s a dancer, I had envisioned this shot of her that looked like she was dancing on air. Here’s what we came up with.

Mallory Wilson and Ryan Gibson got married on May 29 and let me say I just loved everything about this wedding. From the Victorian style to the 57 Chevy to the super fun wedding party (especially the guys – Ryan your groomsmen were a hoot!)
Anyway, sorry it’s taken me so long to get this sneak peek online (it’s been a little busy around here). In fact, we brought our daughter home from the hospital on Friday and then shot Mallory and Ryan’s wedding on the following day (so to say that it was an eventful week would be a massive understatement!). My wife, Rachel usually comes with me on weddings, but since she had a baby 3 days prior, I let her off the hook on this one
so instead, my mother-in-law, Charlyn came along to help me out and even 2nd shoot a bit (Thanks Char!)

Yeah I said “threesome” . . . Now get your mind out of the gutter . . . they brought their dog along. This is Josh Reeves and Amanda Shrum (and their dog Heidi). I’m shooting their wedding next March and we just did their engagement session. Here are a few favorites from their session.

Amy Pohlman and Adam Thomas got married this past Saturday (May 1) and they certainly got lucky with the weather. Considering that it stormed the night before and it stormed the night after and they were calling for tornadoes and flash floods all day long. I would have been happy with 30 minutes of outside time and we didn’t see a drop of rain all day. It was great. Even better than the weather was the wedding itself. Amy and Adam are as sweet a couple you’ll ever meet. Their families were so awesome to work with and the wedding party was a hoot! We had a great time. Here’s a quick sneak peek from Adam and Amy’s special day.

Don and Donna and their kids, Hunter and Lauren (and their dog, Sport), came in for a family session this past weekend. We had such a great time with them. Super neat family. Here are a few images from their session.

Some of you may remember from a few months ago a blog post that I made about an Extreme Make-over competition. In case you don’t remember . . . here’s a quick refresher. My hair dresser, Danielle Moffitt from Elements Salon entered a makeover competition. The hair dresser gets judged as does the make-up artist and even the photographer. Well . . . she asked me to be the photographer (you can see the images we came up with below)
Anyway . . . I just found out today that we got 5th place out of 180+ entries. It would have been way cool if we had gotten 1st, but I’m still pretty stoked about 5th place and I know Danielle is too. If you’re looking for a great hair stylist, you should totally give Danielle a call. She’s really awesome. As is the entire team of girls at Elements Salon.

Sara and Colby Palisch brought their 3-month old, Ansley in for a session this weekend. What a doll she was . . . and so well-tempered. I don’t think I heard her cry once in the entire time that they were here.
Thank you Sara and Colby for spending Saturday morning with us. It was a joy meeting little Ansley.

We shot Mark Rademaker and Tia Meyer’s wedding a few weeks ago on Dec. 11 and then we went out and did a special session on the following day with just Mark and Tia (see the last 4 images). It was quite the chilly day, but Mark and Tia were both real troopers. Tia was even up for some of our “Trash the Dress” ideas. We had her lying on the ground and sitting on railroad tracks. It was really fun and we got some . . . dare I say . . . “sassy” shots (inside joke).
Here are some of our favorite images from their wedding.
Thanks again Mark and Tia for allowing us to be a part of your special day!

We’ve shot a lot of senior athletes this year . . . wait a minute . . . that makes it sound like we’ve shot 75 year old athletes. Not exactly what I meant.
I’ll start again . . . We’ve shot a lot of H.S. senior athletes this year. Several in the past few weeks in fact. Here is a small sampling of some of my favorite shots from our recent sessions. (You’ll find each persons name under their photo).
